2006-07 Annual Giving Campaign
The fourth annual Sports Administration fundraising effort is in its initial stages and is looking to reach new heights for the campaign. In order for the Sports Administration program to continue to thrive and achieve higher levels of success, support from our great alumni base is essential. Your financial investment in our program will help solidify our position as the program of choice - the leader in sports administration education. The goal for the 2006-2007 campaign is $120,000. Jim Kahler, the Executive Director of the Center for Sports Administration, is challenging all alumni to consider their gift in terms of one percent of their salary. He is pledging that amount this year and believes that beginning a culture of giving that uses 1% as a guide will help the program continue to thrive and reach new heights. The 1% program is divided into the following levels: Ohio University Trustee Academy – Graduates who make an annual gift of $2,500 or 1% of their annual income if greater than $2,500. Directors Council – Graduates who have been out of the program for 5 years or longer and make an annual gift of $1,000 a year or 1% of their annual income. Associate Council - Graduates who have been out of the program for 5 years or longer and make an annual gift of $500 a year or 1% of their annual income. Young Alumni Council – Graduates who have been out of the program for less than 5 years and make an annual gift of $250 or 1% of their annual income. If you cannot afford to contribute at the level suggested, we ask that you give what you can. What is most important is that you participate in securing the future of our Sports Ad program. Please send us your completed pledge/gift card (Adobe Acrobat required) or give online at http://www.ohio.edu/ give When giving online, please enter "Sports Administration Enhancement Fund" in the Gift Designation area. Three or four of your fellow classmates have volunteered to serve as the Class Representative(s) in this year's "competitive" campaign. These representatives will be contacting you to encourage your participation. The class with the highest level of participation before May 1st will be recognized at the 2007 Symposium. Updates from the campaign will be published in the Sports AdVantage newsletter throughout the year.
